Institut Kanser Negara (IKN) menerapkan konsep Hospital Mesra Ibadah (HMI) bermula bermula 29 April 2019. HMI ini adalah cetusan idea YBhg. Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, Mantan Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan Malaysia. Kerjasama strategik ini mengukuhkan hubungan erat antara KKM dan Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) dalam memberi impak berguna untuk membangun dan menyempurnakan sistem tadbir urus serta perkhidmatan penjagaan kesihatan yang lebih bersifat holistik.
Standard HMI mengandungi enam teras utama iaitu organisasi dan pengurusan; pembangunan dan pengurusan sumber manusia; polisi dan prosedur; peralatan dan kemudahan; aktiviti keselamatan dan peningkatan kualiti serta kerjasama agensi luar.
